The PK team is drawn from a broad range of multi-sector, global disciplines, combining a wealth of experience in a variety of government and commercial sectors.  Underpinned by a clear understanding of the strength that diversity brings, the team's collective access and experience enables PK to actively and efficiently monitor the pulse of the sector, discovering opportunities based on identifying and interpreting current and emerging DoD operational requirements and capability gaps.  Once identified these gaps can then be addressed with innovative conceptual solutions, mapped to key technology groups through engagement with industry, innovators, capital providers and academia domestically and across partner nations.    


Don Steinman

The Founder of Product Knowledge, Don brings with him with him more than 20 years of technology product development and commercialization experience resulting in more than $2 Billion in delivered product across the commercial and defense sectors.  He is widely recognized as a leader in results oriented unconventional product strategy and delivery.  Having extensive experience with both large and small firms his expertise provides value across Product Knowledge’s entire range of clients.

Throughout his professional career Don has held a number of senior positions in both management and technology development areas. His career spans both the defense and the commercial sectors with a principal focus on transitioning core technologies to sustainable products.

paul Winstanley

Paul is an entrepreneurial technologist with a substantial track record for applying innovation in the defence and security sectors spanning academia, government, SMEs and international publicly traded companies.
Paul’s early career was with UK MoD, then with QinetiQ where he held a number of leadership roles including Technical Director of the Sensors and Avionics business and then CEO of QinetiQ Inc. Subsequently, Paul has founded and ran an SME and then was the inaugural Executive Director Innovation and Investment at the UK Defence Solutions Centre.
Currently, Paul has founded and run a private sector incubator and held a number of advisory roles. His business skills include leadership, substantial international P&L experience, capital raising and realising value from technology.

Beyond the core team is a robust network of professional services partners and vetted independent consultants, ready and able to support us and our clients through a variety of functions ranging from congressional engagement activities in Washington DC to the provision of deep technical expertise and global market monitoring.


nick fisher

Nick is an accomplished entrepreneur, corporate executive, military officer and engineer with a wealth of experience in leadership and management roles across a diverse range of challenging environments in multiple international sectors.

Nick is able to deliver valuable experience in company start-up, strategic investment, M&A, market entry and strategic business development coupled with an in depth appreciation of technology innovation across a number of sectors. Of particular note is the defense and security domain where he leads a private equity fund focussed on promoting the industrial strategy of greater engagement between innovative SMEs and the private finance community.
Commercially, Nick has gained experience at the strategic management level of companies in the technology innovation, software development and systems engineering sectors operating globally.
